Honestly, it seems to just be a game of roulette.

If you have gotten them to close your account, then the ETF fee is automatically added by their system. Your best bet is to call and try someone new and explain the situation. You may have to start form scratch walking them back through the contract. Make sure you get each person's name and extension and make a note of if they were receptive to your argument.

It really depends on having someone willing to listen. I have had people slam the door in my face and I called back later to get someone that was willing to listen. Once I convinced someone in the cancellation department they called the billing department on my behalf and got the fee waived while I was on the line.

One piece of advice: do not call near closing time for the call center. Then they only want to get you off the phone.

I know that is not much advice, but I hope it helps.

Sir, I am in the same situation except I was flat out told by an associate director my etfs would be waived. But when I called back to pay my final bill the csr said the associate director didn't make the notation to my account only the csr did. What should I do?

Ps I recorded our Convo on my webcam and u can plainly head the man say my etfs were to be credited

That does look like a cool app. However, it does cost money and restricts your copy to one ($39) or five ($59) computers.

I like to keep control of my media so I would recommend Handbreak (Free), which is listed on Part 1 of this list.

Good list. I found another cool app by the Flip4Mac people called Drive In. With it, you can image your dvd collection to an int. or ext. hard drive.

I'm on a Mac, so I have not been able to check Chrome out.

That being said, I am not sure if I will when a Mac version is available. I know they fixed their EULA, but I still have privacy concerns. I think Google provides great services (Google Earth, etc.) and they are by far the best search engine. However, I am staying away from Gmail and Chrome because they seem to make it far to easy to track me.

I regularly delete my cookies, but I am not sure if they can still track by something else unique to my computer. Call me a privacy freak, but I want to at least make them work for it.

Comment on Ron Paul read my mind (The other convention) by J. Tyler Ballance

As one of the millions, who are sometimes affectionately known as, "Paulistinians" I had worked on many other campaigns, especially performing the tedious task of gathering ballot petition signatures. Ron Paul was the first candidate for whom I gladly stood out in the rain days on end, to help be sure he made it onto the Virginia ballot.

It is easy to love and support Ron Paul, because his campaign is about real solutions and real ideas for a brighter future for America.

The GOP could have had these MILLIONS of young, tech-savvy voters working hard for local candidates. Instead, the "old guard" of the GOP pissed away any chance to get these folks on the team by treating the "Paulistinians" like trailer park cousins who showed up, uninvited, at the country club cotillion.

Now, most of the Paulistinians will be supporting Bob Barr, which means we all can start getting used to saying, "President Obama."

Maybe we will have competent candidates from the major parties in 2012!

I am glad to see such a turnout at the Campaign for Liberty convention. I think it is great that 10,000 + people showed up for something they have to pay for and travel to for a person who was deemed as "crazy" and "longshot" for telling the truth, investigating history, foreseeing economic disaster and down turn, and calling for the change of Washington effective immediately. And knowing that it was all coming from Dr. Paul, the most consistent and "stick to their guns" candidate out there we know " that's change we can believe in."

It goes to show you that there is a whole lot of people who are not happy with the current situation and would like a complete "do-over" to the presidential selection this time around.

Thanks for the article, and I have one thing to say to media and other people out there that didn't go for Paul who were told they were making a mistake. "Told ya so." Now he gets the attention from the media and the spots on the television talk shows to discuss his opinions, but not while running. The media ruined these next four years for the American people, only after the American people ruined these next four years for themselves for taking stalk in the media.

Thank again for the coverage.
