A day I will never get back…

Today I went to a job fair sponsored by Monster.com in Decator, GA. So a friend and I drive the almost two hours to get to the job fair at a Holiday Inn. Immediately, I have a bad feeling that nothing will come of this. First, Mapquest gives us bad directions (I know we should have used GoogleMaps). 

Next, there are hundreds of cars and for some reason the Holiday Inn has decided to block off their parking garage. So people are now parking in bank lots where they are being threatened with a tow. I mean surely all these unemployed people have the money to pay off the tow?

So, we park in a garage down the street and enter the Holiday Inn. We then find a line that goes from the conference room, through the lobby, to the administrative offices, and almost back out into the parking lot.

My first paid PA job…

Last week in Atlanta I worked my first paid job as a production assistant (PA). I had previously interned on the film Leatherheads (PA) and with Surf & Turf Entertainment (PA/Assistant Editor) for their show “Addicted to the Outdoors.” However, I was excited to have my first paying job.

A large automotive company was having a tour to introduce new car models in front of over 600 regional car dealers. The purpose was to unveil the newest cars and inform dealers of the latest car features and selling techniques. My job was simple: arrive in advance to set up the office for the 15 or so keynote production team members. The next day I would run errands to pick up miscellanies items, run documents, track down packages/office equipment, and shush hotel staff when they were being too loud backstage.
